Cassandra Ventura (born on August 26, 1986) is an American model, R&B singer, and occasional actress. She is best known for her single Me & U, which became a hit in the summer of 2006.

Cassie was born in New London, Connecticut and moved to New York City and continued modeling; she attended classes at the Broadway Dance Center. Meanwhile, music producer Ryan Leslie spotted her at clubs and parties in late 2004.

Shortly after a formal introduction to Ryan Leslie, Cassie became the focus of Next Selection. The two wrote a duet called “Kiss Me” and after recording the track, Next Selection made a management move to play the song for music executive Tommy Mottola. Leslie also co-wrote and produced Cassie’s first single, “Me & U”. Cassie was introduced to Sean “Diddy” Combs by a make-up artist from one of her modeling assignments, which also helped her to get a shot at a music career.

Before signing with the Bad Boy label, Cassie’s first single “Me & U” had already hit the airwaves and was a major hit in clubs. On its official release, “Me & U” proved to be a hit song. It reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and number four on the Billboard Pop 100.

Her follow up single, “Long Way 2 Go” was far less successful, peaking at ninety-seven on the Billboard Hot 100. Cassie’s debut album, Cassie, was released on August 8, 2006 and sold 321,000 copies in the U.S.

Album Description
A lot has changed in the world of Vedera. Back in 2005 when they released their debut The Weight of an Empty Room the Kansas City group were known as Veda. Driven by the powerful and charming voice of front-woman Kristen May, their brand of soaring indie-pop found them traveling the U.S. opening for acclaimed acts such as Thrice, Mute Math, mewithoutYou and Owen. Since then, they've undergone a name change (for legal reasons), and have moved from the humble home of Second Nature Recordings to the media giant Epic Records. Unfortunately for Vedera, their personality seems to have missed the move.

Vedera's music has always been a few steps away from sounding like the background music on any of the teenage girl melodramas on weeknight television and on Stages they cross those steps in a single bound. The spacey tones and brooding atmospherics that penetrated The Weight of an Empty Room have been discarded in favor of crystal clear low key pop. Kristen May's voice is as strong as ever but her singing style has changed. Instead of the slightly accented sultry vox that made their debut so captivating, she now employs a much more airier sound that sparingly has her pushing her vocal chords to the beautiful heights that they are capable of. At times traces of Vedera's past sneak their way on to Stages. “Satisfy” contains a recycled verse from one of their debut's standout tracks “Desire on Repeat”, and the lush and layered “Look Around” and “We Sing” masterfully display their potential when they inject a healthy dose of tension in to their friendly pop songs.

The change that Vedera have gone through from The Weight of an Empty Room to Stages is one that many people could see coming. Sadly, they ended up leaving many of the features that made them such a pleasure with their old moniker, making Stages an album suffering from a lack of identity, adrift in the overcrowded sea of female fronted soft-rock.

Yelle (a portmanteau of yeah and elle) is a French singer from the town of Saint-Brieuc, Bretagne. She rose to fame on myspace.com when she posted a song titled "Short Dick Cuizi", dissing Cuizinier, a member of the Parisian hip-hop group TTC. With producer and close friend GrandMarnier, Yelle has recorded a debut album Pop-Up, after her hit single "Je Veux Te Voir" (a finalized version of "Short Dick Cuizi").
